Hope Miracle Gift From the Heart

I was listening to KTIS radio when I heard a woman call in to talk with Colton Dixon, there in the studio talking about his music.Sarah referred to Colton’s song, Miracles, as one that helped her so much during Covid, when her restaurant decided to not just close for business, but to open for Free Food!! Anyone who wanted or needed to partake of their generous gift from the heart was welcome.
And . . . drum roll please . . . when they weren’t sure where the next day’s food would come from, they trusted God to provide and the Miracles poured in! Trucks of food would arrive and they continued to feed the masses. I was floored by Sarah’s humility, in not even trying to promote her restaurants. That was a miracle in itself. And by the way, if you want to go there, it’s Hope Breakfast Bar in St. Paul and St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

The Miracle of Good Timing

Upon completing the Soul Survivors TV trailer – “Appetizer” video on home page – I called a woman who had been chomping at the bit to help us find funding. I would be paying her for her efforts and she was ready to quit her job and trust in God, once we were finished. Well, it took us an extra month to complete the editing of the trailer (yes, it takes a lot of work and time to get it right, and then, of course, nothing us humans do is ever really perfect.)

Then, another miracle happened. We finished, finally, I called this wonderful woman to let her know we were ready to go and guess what? She had just quit her job the day before. It was time, she said, for many reasons she shared with me. She couldn’t believe our timing and hers. We had both come to the point of completion at the exact same time!! Her attitude has always been positive and I know that’s what got her through. That, and her faith in God.

Did She Meet Her Angel?

A friend of mine told me this story

My daughter was laid off last year with a number of other people at the robotics company where she worked. As we live In our house which we own jointly, and she is the main income provider, I thought that we may have to sell the house and make changes in our life.

My guardian angel told me to “relax, things will be fine, and myour daughter will be working again.”

Then her husband’s co-worker named Angel, met an acquaintance at a party soon afterwards. The woman mentioned that her company was looking for a manager in the robotics field. Angel told her that her co-worker’s wife had just been laid off from another robotics company.

My daughter sent in her resume and shortly after that was hired by the robotics company.

Before her new job miracle, a stranger struck up a conversation with her at a gas station, telling her that she was a strong and capable woman, seemed to know much about her. My daughter had a strange, uplifting feeling as he talked with her, boosting her self-esteem in facing her unemployment situation. She wondered, “Was that my guardian angel there at that moment for me?”

Choosing Life As A Miracle

There are two ways to live:

    You can live as if nothing is a miracle;

You can live as if everything is a miracle.

I choose to live my life as if everything is a miracle. What about you?

Maybe the miracles we post in this blog will help you. There have been many so far. I’ll give you a start with mine, then maybe you can share some of yours!

Someone I know once told me that the number 13 means rebirth. I believe it, as I don’t really like the alternative! I believe we make our own luck by what we believe. I believe my life is miraculous, and that I certainly don’t do it, but what God does through me.

The first miracle with Soul Survivors happened when, after I was told by the still small voice that I needed to write a TV series for women (yeah, right!) my inner spiritual guidance was to move to Santa Barbara, CA, sight unseen! I thought to myself, “Well, if Oprah lives there, it can’t be bad.” At the time, I’d been basically homeless, but in style, house-sitting in mansion – yes, 4200 square feet was a mansion to me. I finally got a ghost-writing job, so I was able to get going when the house sold.

Within two weeks of arriving in Santa Barbara I met my mentor for screenwriting, Fred Freeman. He wrote for the Andy Griffith Show, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and many movies and more. I couldn’t believe my good fortune. I’d been hoping I could find a screenwriter. Yes, I’m a best-selling author, but screenwriting is a whole different animal. Fred said I had to write the screenplay myself! The fact that I did is a miracle in itself. And I’ve got 8 more written, ready to be produced when we get the funds.

Casting by God

Having never produced a TV show, other than helping produce my author interviews from time to time, I was appalled to get the inner message that I also had to do the casting! I felt like I knew why: God was asking me to be the person to get out of the way and listen to what was needed for these special roles, particularly the angels.

So, even though my producer and director likely thought I was crazy (or they know so by now!), I charged forward. Calling schools and film associations, searching the internet and asking friends, including some of the actors I cast first, I found an amazing group of spiritually-minded, open-hearted, loving Souls ready to leap at the chance to act something so fresh and clean.

One more miracle: Even though I didn’t do auditions (I just knew by talking with them and watching a bit of film of the main characters), the producer and director felt it was really well-cast!
